When Emma and Cathy from All Animals are Suay, Chiang Mai received a call for help to take slum cat, Yok to the vet – the case did not appear urgent. The caller reported Yok’s symptoms as being simply “swelling in his legs.”
Due to the clinical picture that they were given, and their almost depleted funds, they considered putting the case off. Thankfully, the caller was insistent, because she had severely understated Yok’s injuries!
It may always be a mystery what happened to Yok, but his paws are badly infected, and his tail was in such a state that it was in danger of rotting. This poor baby is in such pain!
An emergency amputation was required immediately. Even if you’re more a “dog person” than a “cat person”, please consider donating a few dollars to Yok.
He needs at least a week in hospital including heavy duty antibiotics and daily wound care to treat his deep tail wound and infected paws, and his rescuers need to pay for his emergency surgery. Yok , Emma and Cathy say “thank you so much!
