This urgent case comes to us from Thai rescuer Anong Inoerb who desperately wants to take away this poor soul’s pain & help him regain his health & his dignity.
Anong tells us the story of Daeng…

“I am urgently trying to help Daeng, a stray dog in front of my house. His hip was hit by a car, resulting in a broken pelvis and severely swollen genitals. Dang is in so much pain that he now has a urinary catheter because he can’t control his peeing or pooping. X-rays and other tests are needed to determine the repairs needed.

I have known Daeng for over 7 years. He’s been seen living on the side of the road, eating food from a house where they sprinkle food on the road side in the evening.
Daeng only gets one meal a day. Even when the sun shines or rains, he still sits on the side of the road, sometimes sheltering from the rain by the roof of another house’s gate.
Dang is calm and silent. He does not bark at people. He just stays quiet. But he is my dogs friends ( Dum, Seven and Pookpik). They play together.

I’ve been calling Daeng to come inside my house all the time, but he won’t come inside, and he is too scared to let me touch him or get close to him.

This incident happened on Saturday night of the 15th November around 9:00 PM. Daeng was sleeping on the side of the road on his usual spot.
I heard a car speeding up in front of the house and heard him cry out. Daeng had been hit by this car and ran into the jungle behind the house.
On Sunday morning, I couldn’t find him. I searched for him till Tuesday afternoon when Daeng appeared at my house looking for food.
My sister saw him, so she mixed sedative with his food so we could get him medical care. 

I took Daeng to the Yala Animal Hospital for an X-ray and other tests. The most urgent treatment he needs is pelvic surgery to help Daeng regain control of his urination and bowel movements. The recovery in the hospital takes 7 days and after I will take care of him at home. Daeng now has a urinary catheter. As for the stool, I have to wipe and clean him often.

After surgery I will take care of him at home with my other dogs. He now lets me touch him & he and I are friends.”

The total cost for Daeng including tests, medication & surgery is approx. $900usd.
