Burned and bleeding, she clings to her puppies despite unbearable pain!… This heartbreaking case & plea for help comes to us from our friends at Vetvan in Rayong, Thailand.

This mother dog with acid burns (from rubber farming), was found wandering near the road, almost as if she was asking for help.

A kind person noticed her and followed her and she led them straight to where she had hidden her 6 tiny puppies. That’s when they discovered the heartbreaking fact
that one of her puppies had been burned by the acid too. We don’t know exactly how the dogs were burned but acid is used on the rubber trees to make it solid
and this acid has somehow got all over the mother & pup.

They brought the mother and all her puppies to Vetvan Thailand for help & Vetvan immediately sent the mother dog and her burned baby to “Lovely Pet Hospital” for intensive treatment.
The remaining 5 puppies are temporarily staying with the kind person, but they desperately need safe homes.

We’ve named this sweet mother dog Katie and her injured puppy Kira.

On top of Katie’s agonising injuries, with acid damage affecting her muscles, tendons, face, mouth and even burning through to the bone,
she is also suffering from Pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection, but she is very anemic and too sick for surgery at this time.

This sweet pair is undergoing intensive treatment at Lovely Pet Hospital where today she began her first laser therapy session for her awful burns.
