Minggay's fight to live & how you can help.

This is Minggay, she & her tiny kitten were rescued from a busy highway in the city of Pampanga, The Philippines.

She did not look like this when she was rescued, but she was sick and suffering from Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which can be fatal.
She survived the virus but her nasal area was worsening. The vet who diagnosed her FIV, sadly failed to diagnose cancer.

Minggay’s rescuer “Mary” took her to another vet who advised she is suffering from an aggressive type of cancer called “Feline Squamous Cell Carcinoma”.
She urgently needs a series of chemotherapy injections to kill the hazardous cells and prevent them from spreading further.

We asked Minggay’s vet what the prognosis is, as this case looked quite severe to us and we were unsure if Minggay would survive.
The vet told us “Minggay is a real fighter, she wags her tail every time we ask her if she really wants to fight this”!.

She has just undergone her 2nd chemotherapy treatment and it’s working. She has one more to go and then the vet will do a reconstruction surgery on her nasal area.
Minggay’s rescuer – Mary has adopted this poor soul and will care for her for the rest of her life. Mary visits Minggay every day, spends time with her, feed & comforts her.

It is obvious to everyone involved in Minggay’s care that this little cat is NOT GIVING UP, so we must help her fight this battle!
Thank you everyone!
