Beagles abandoned by owner with no food or water...

Marianne Willemse (dog rescuer in Chiang Mai, Thailand) was alerted to two Beagles that had been locked up in a property without food or water when their owner moved out!   When Marianne went to investigate, she couldn’t believe that any human being could just walk away from 2 sick puppies, leaving them with no way to find food or water. This beautiful pair had been left to starve & die.

She rushed the pair (Teddy & his sister Tesla) to the vet, as they were both severely malnourished, dehydrated and covered in ticks.

Both were in a bad state, but Teddy was having allergic reactions to just about everything imaginable & his skin is red raw in places. He is constantly uncomfortable and unhappy and we need to help him.

Teddy requires a daily pill of a drug called Aproquel for the rest of his life.  Apoquel is an oral tablet that works differently than other allergy medications. It goes straight to the source to help relieve itch and inflammation at its core—addressing the underlying cause of irritation and soothing allergic reactions.  After just a few days on this drug at the vet,  the improvement in Teddy was amazing.  With continued use he should be able to live a normal life.

The problem is that Aproquel costs $120 USD a month and while Marianne has been struggling to pay for this, she has many other rescued dogs in her care and she can no longer afford the cost of this drug which keeps Teddy happy and healthy. Marianne rarely asks for help, but she has reached out to see if we can find some sponsors to cover the cost of Teddy’s medication until such times as she finds him a forever home.

Help Fund Our Mission...

For dogs needing help, be they street dogs or abandoned pets often the only place of refuge will be a small rescue shelter. The world is full of small shelters trying to make a difference with little or no support.  Long hours, dirty work, heartbreak & lack of money is what animal rescue is about, punctuated by the happy events that make it all worthwhile.
