The Man That Rescues Dogs is a Thai nonprofit founded by Swedish chef Michael J. Baines, who left the restaurant world behind after feeding one sick stray changed his life. Today, TMTRD is home to over 820 rescued dogs in Chonburi, including the beloved “Wheelchair Mafia,” a group of 45 paralyzed dogs who require the use of custom wheelchairs for their daily walks.

The foundation provides food, medical care, and shelter to hundreds of dogs each day. Over 450 street dogs are fed daily along local routes. A dedicated Care Unit supports elderly and disabled dogs, while an on-site veterinary clinic handles urgent treatment and ongoing spay and neuter campaigns to prevent future suffering.

TMTRD is powered by a team of 46 full-time staff, supported by the local government and donors from around the world.

Every contribution directly supports food, medical care, rescue efforts, and long-term rehabilitation.
