Bullet’s excruciating painful embarrassing situation

BULLET’S EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL  & EMBARRASSING SITUATION!…

Bullet lives with rescuer Dominique in The Philippines, he’s one of many rescued street dogs she cares for.

Last week, Dominique discovered Bullet in an excruciatingly painful situation! His penis had become erect and would not return to its flaccid position despite repeated attempts by Dominique to help. Bullet was in terrible pain!

Dominique’s vet told her on the phone that if the erection did not subside within 30mins, to urgently bring him to the clinic as this condition was now serious and could result in strangulation of the penis resulting in the organ effectively dying through lack of blood flow.

This is exactly what happened and the vet’s only option was to amputate Bullet’s penis and create a “urethrostomy” – the creation of an opening into the urethra, so that Bullet can urinate.

Dominique has been very upset & distressed about Bullet’s situation. Not only has he lost his penis, but the post-surgical period is crucial for his recovery and the risks associated with this surgery are high.

Bullet is therefore remaining at the clinic (at additional cost) so that he can recuperate faster and the vet is on hand for any concerns.

Bullet is a sweet natured, loving soul and this whole situation has been heart breaking for Dominique and the others who care for him. But to date, Bullet’s appetite is good and he’s showing resilience and a will to recover, which is truly inspiring.
